Green Bicycle is a multidisciplinary creative firm based around the work of founder Alan Brandt. Trained as an architect, Alan has worked in the field for 10 years as an Intern Architect, Project Designer, and Project Manager. We are based in Bend, Oregon, but travel everywhere!

"What's with the bicycle? Do you design bicycles?" The actual green bicycle was received as payment for a design job, and has since risen to fame and glory as our moniker. It's a reminder that the best solutions are often as simple as possible. (As a side note, we tend to prefer to use the simplest form of transportation practical, which more frequently than not, is a bicycle. We enjoy the chance to get out of the office and be our own bike messenger, and many times are struck with great moments of inspiration on those rides.)

Design:
We offer full-service residential, furniture, and prototype design. Our approach to residential design is rigorous, specializing in smaller detail-oriented projects that may be worked from multiple vantage points. We believe that good design and ecological design are synonymous, and resist the current trend of spouting eco-buzzwords at every chance. Our furniture often begins with found objects, and expands on that character with a heavy dose of refined, industrial-strength elegance.

Photography:
Since commandeering his dad's camera as a teenager, Alan has been in love with photography. Over the last 20 years, he has expanded and refined his talent as an artist photographer, and combined this with design training to excel at architectural photography. Alan's photographs are currently in regional publications and private collections worldwide.

We regularly work with open and closed briefs, and enjoy the different challenges in each instance. Our unique blend of skills helps us to bring a new vision to those projects where we have the creative freedom of an open brief.

Illustration:
Beautiful architectural and technical illustrations are a natural extension of our design process. We are experts in traditional media as well as 3D rendering and animation. We can work with you at all stages of your design to help illustrate your concepts to clients, in styles ranging from loose sketches to fully polished large-scale renderings.
